I’m not dead! But it wase a close call
It’s official, we’re bloody masochists. We’re watching Idols and none of the 16 remaining contestant knows how to sing. We’re currently watching some blonde bimbo singing “Total eclipse of the heart”. I say “singing” because I can’t really say write she’s raping the song, now can I?
A lot has happened since the last entry. For example, I’m writing this on a shiny new MacBook Pro, in our new home. What? Who?
Let me take you back a while. On the 16th, we had a brilliant performance at the Midwinter Fair. We had Wietse of Annatar standing in as our keyboard player. We had had 1 (one) rehearsal with him and he was wonderful on stage. Melaina was simply amazing and made us the only band that got mentioned in a short article on the Midwinter Fair.
After that, auditions started and I can tell you that we’ve reached a decision. In the meantime, XS4ALL screwed up big time and terminated my internet connection two weeks early. This meant a life without internet for two weeks. On top of that, UPC screwed up as well and somehow didn’t deliver my internet connection on the new address. In the end, I had to go to one of their stores to subscribe and take the whole DIY kit home. I moved the server shortly after but it wasn’t until today that I realised I got the whole registration part wrong, resulting in only 7KB upload … That must’ve been torture on our fans!
On the 14th of December, we got the keys to our new place and that meant me painting and decorating the house for two weeks straight. I had some time to be ill in between, and I had some really wonderful help from my the in-laws (mother, father and brother), my own parents and brother, friends of Anne Nicole & Arjen and Melaina! Thanks to all of you!
We had backbreaking days of painting, cleaning, painting, cleaning and more painting. I’ve had a few days where I was ready to just throw in the towel. But that would only mess up the paintwork, so I didn’t.
We moved yesterday. Anne was taken to a really fancy and rahter expensive hotel by her mother. Me and Anne’s father coordinated the move which actually went rather smoothly. I drove the bike while my father-in-law drove my car to the new home. By the evening, we were all settled and most of the furniture was in place.
And now I have a shiny new MacBook so I can sit downstairs with the wife, watch some TV and blog at the same time.
It’s a wonderful life, but I’m beat as hell and I’m taking next week off.
